Who We Are
JHL Deck Builders is part of the JHL Home Services group — a family of specialty contractors serving the Main Line, Delaware County and Chester County since 1995. Over the past 30 years we’ve designed and built more than 1,000 custom decks, and we bring the same high standards of craftsmanship, communication and professionalism to every single project, whether it’s a simple ground-level platform or a multi-level composite deck with a roof and outdoor kitchen.
Our team of skilled carpenters is licensed, insured and OSHA-compliant, and we’re a registered Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor (PA HIC #PA035784). We handle everything from the first consultation and 3D design through permitting, footing inspections, framing, decking and final walkthrough — one team, one point of contact, start to finish. You’ll always know who’s working on your home and when.
We build with the industry’s leading materials — Trex, TimberTech and AZEK composite and PVC decking, paired with Keylink and RDI railing — chosen to stand up to Pennsylvania’s freeze-thaw winters and humid summers with minimal maintenance. We operate from our Newtown Square studio and serve homeowners throughout the western Philadelphia suburbs.

Design & Quote
You get a clear design, a material walkthrough (Trex, TimberTech, AZEK + Keylink/RDI railing) and a detailed written quote.
Permits & Build
We pull township permits, set code-compliant footings, and our own crews frame and finish the deck — typically in 1–3 weeks.
Final Walkthrough
We walk the finished deck with you, pass final inspection, and stand behind our workmanship and the manufacturer warranties.

We work out of our studio at 12 Smedley Ln in Newtown Square — where we meet clients, design builds, and dispatch our crews across the Main Line, Delaware County, and Chester County.
